Description
NAD+ 1000mg from Prime Peptides is a sealed glass vial with 1000mg of NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) as freeze-dried powder. NAD+ is a coenzyme. It’s intended for lab and analytical work only.
What is NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide)?
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme found in every living cell. It carries electrons in the reactions that turn food into ATP, and it’s used up by enzymes such as the sirtuins, PARPs and CD38.
Levels fall with age in several tissues in rodents and people, which is why NAD+ and its precursors, such as NMN and nicotinamide riboside, have become a major topic in aging research.
What NAD+ does in cells
NAD+ shuttles electrons in glycolysis, the Krebs cycle and the mitochondrial chain, so it’s needed to turn food into ATP. It’s also used up by sirtuins, which regulate gene expression, and by PARPs, which repair DNA.
Because those enzymes consume it, NAD+ levels depend on constant recycling. Falling levels with age are linked to lower sirtuin activity, which is the basis for most NAD+ aging research.

What the literature says about NAD+
Work from Shin-ichiro Imai’s lab at Washington University linked falling NAD+ to age-related decline in mice. In a small human trial published in Science in 2021, Yoshino and colleagues reported that the precursor NMN improved muscle insulin sensitivity in prediabetic women.
Most studies raise NAD+ with precursors such as NMN or nicotinamide riboside. Direct NAD+ work is a separate research question.

NAD+ compared with similar compounds
Quick context: NAD+ is the coenzyme cells need for energy reactions and sirtuin activity. Other compounds in the same area:
- Glutathione is the main antioxidant tripeptide inside cells
- MOTS-c is a short peptide coded in mitochondrial DNA and linked to AMPK
Longevity research splits into separate processes, and each compound here targets one: cell energy, oxidative stress or mitochondrial signaling. Compare them in our anti-aging peptides.
NAD+ 1000mg mixing guide
Working out the strength of your solution takes one division: 1,000mg over the millilitres you add. Typical volumes give these results:
- 5mL of diluent gives 200mg per mL
- 10mL of diluent gives 100mg per mL
Clean the rubber stopper, add diluent a little at a time along the side of the vial and roll it between your fingers until it clears. Never shake it. Add bacteriostatic water to the same order so you have it ready.
Keeping NAD+ 1000mg fresh
An easy rule for NAD+ 1000mg: powder in the freezer, solution in the fridge. Light and moisture are what degrade freeze-dried peptides, so leave the vial in its carton.
Reconstitute one vial at a time. Powder lasts months, solution lasts weeks.
Checking the quality of NAD+ 1000mg
On the Prime vial you’ll see the compound name, the words “Lyophilized Powder” and a research-only notice. File the order confirmation with your notes so each vial can be traced to its delivery.
Independent verification usually means HPLC for purity plus mass spectrometry for identity. One without the other only tells half the story.
A quick note of the order number and opening date on each vial makes troubleshooting far easier later on.
