Description
GHK-Cu copper peptide is 100mg of GHK-Cu under a crimped aluminium cap, supplied by Prime Peptides as freeze-dried powder. It’s a copper-binding tripeptide. It’s sold for laboratory research only.
GHK-Cu at a glance
GHK-Cu is the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine bound to a copper(II) ion. Loren Pickart first isolated GHK from human plasma in 1973, and levels in plasma are reported to fall with age.
It binds copper tightly and is studied for wound healing, collagen production and skin repair. It’s also one of the most common actives in copper peptide skin care.
The mechanism behind GHK-Cu
GHK binds copper tightly and can deliver it to cells. Copper is a cofactor for lysyl oxidase, the enzyme that cross-links collagen and elastin, and for antioxidant enzymes.
In cell and animal studies GHK-Cu increased collagen and glycosaminoglycan production, attracted repair cells to wounds, and changed the activity of many genes involved in tissue remodeling.

What the literature says about GHK-Cu
Maquart and colleagues reported in 1988 that GHK-Cu stimulated collagen synthesis in cultured fibroblasts, and later rat wound-chamber studies found more collagen and glycosaminoglycan buildup.
Gene expression work by Pickart and colleagues suggests GHK can shift the activity of a large number of human genes, many tied to tissue repair and the antioxidant response.

Where GHK-Cu fits among related peptides
GHK-Cu is a copper-binding tripeptide linked to collagen and wound remodeling. Here’s how the nearest options in our range differ:
- BPC-157 is a 15-amino-acid fragment of a gastric protein, studied for new blood vessel growth and tissue repair
- TB-500 is synthetic thymosin beta-4, an actin-binding peptide tied to cell migration
They map onto different stages of repair: new blood vessels, cell migration, inflammation and rebuilding the tissue matrix. Compare them in our healing and recovery peptides.
How to dissolve GHK-Cu copper peptide
Working out the strength of your solution takes one division: 100mg over the millilitres you add. Typical volumes give these results:
- 2mL of diluent gives 50mg per mL
- 3mL of diluent gives 33.333mg per mL
- 5mL of diluent gives 20mg per mL
Clean the rubber stopper, add diluent a little at a time along the side of the vial and roll it between your fingers until it clears. Never shake it. Add bacteriostatic water to the same order so you have it ready.
Keeping GHK-Cu copper peptide fresh
Unopened GHK-Cu copper peptide keeps best at -20°C. A fridge is fine if you’ll use it soon. After reconstitution it belongs at 2 to 8°C, and most protocols use it up within 28 days.
Reconstitute one vial at a time. Powder lasts months, solution lasts weeks.
Checking the quality of GHK-Cu copper peptide
On the Prime vial you’ll see the compound name, the words “Lyophilized Powder” and a research-only notice. File the order confirmation with your notes so each vial can be traced to its delivery.
If your lab wants independent confirmation, two tests answer different questions. HPLC shows what share of the sample is the main compound, and mass spectrometry confirms that compound has the expected molecular weight.
Write the order number and the date opened on every vial. If a result looks unusual later, you can trace it back to one delivery.
