Prime Peptides Tesamorelin: The GHRH Analog Explained
Prime Peptides tesamorelin explained: what the compound is, the clinical research behind it, how it compares with other growth hormone peptides and how to store it.

What Prime Peptides tesamorelin is
Prime Peptides tesamorelin is a 10mg vial of freeze-dried tesamorelin for laboratory research, priced at $80.00. Tesamorelin is the full 44-amino-acid growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) with a trans-3-hexenoyl group added to the front. That cap protects it from the enzyme DPP-4, so it lasts longer than natural GHRH.
Theratechnologies developed it, and the FDA approved it in 2010 as Egrifta for reducing excess abdominal fat in people with HIV-associated lipodystrophy. That approval gives it more human data than any other GHRH compound.
How tesamorelin works
Tesamorelin binds the GHRH receptor on the pituitary and raises growth hormone and, downstream, IGF-1. Its best-documented effect is on visceral fat, the fat around the organs, which is what the Egrifta approval was based on.
What the research on tesamorelin shows
Falutz and colleagues reported in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2007 that 26 weeks of tesamorelin cut visceral fat by about 15% compared with placebo, while raising IGF-1. Later studies looked at liver fat in people with HIV, and a trial published in The Lancet HIV in 2019 found that tesamorelin reduced liver fat and slowed fibrosis progression.
This PubMed search for tesamorelin lists the published papers, and human trials are tracked on ClinicalTrials.gov.
Prime Peptides tesamorelin compared with other GH peptides
Tesamorelin and sermorelin both act on the GHRH receptor, but sermorelin is only the first 29 amino acids and breaks down within minutes. CJC-1295 without DAC, in our CJC-1295 and ipamorelin blend, sits in between. Ipamorelin works on the other receptor, the ghrelin receptor, so many protocols pair a GHRH compound with it. Our CJC-1295 guide explains that pairing.
Mixing and storing tesamorelin
Add bacteriostatic water slowly and swirl until clear. With 2mL added, the 10mg vial holds 5mg per mL. Keep sealed vials at -20°C and mixed vials at 2 to 8°C, and use a mixed vial within about four weeks.
Who orders Prime Peptides tesamorelin
Prime Peptides tesamorelin suits studies on visceral fat, liver fat and the GH and IGF-1 axis, the areas where the clinical literature is strongest. Because it has human trial data behind it, it’s often the reference compound when labs compare newer GHRH analogs.
